Sash windows – a classic in a modern edition
Sash windows are traditional structures, known primarily from the architecture of Great Britain, Ireland, and northern France. Their characteristic feature is the opening system in an up-and-down sliding arrangement, which gives them a timeless look and unique functionality.
In our sash windows, we use cords and weights placed on both sides of the sashes. This mechanism ensures smooth window operation, and access to the weights is provided by a practical inspection hatch, mounted in the frame. The structure is finished with elegant internal and external trims, which emphasizes their traditional character.
Each window is fully equipped with pulleys, locks, hooks, and sash rings, making it ready for use right after installation. An additional characteristic element is external horns, as well as the possibility of making wooden, stick-on glazing bars, fitting perfectly into the classic style.
Heritage sash windows
We also offer windows in the Heritage version, designed for buildings located in conservation areas. This variant is distinguished by:
- narrow sash and frame profile (140 mm frame),
- possibility of using single glazing,
- glazing from the outside,
- traditional mechanism based exclusively on weights.
The Heritage solution allows retaining the original appearance of the woodwork while meeting conservation requirements.
Window construction
Ecodrew windows are made of the highest quality components that ensure durability, structural stability, and excellent thermal parameters. Their quality is made up of carefully selected elements:
- Box width: 146 mm or 170 mm – solid construction guaranteeing window stability and rigidity.
- Steel weights – precisely selected for smooth and trouble-free operation of the sashes.
- High-quality glued timber – ensures resistance to deformation and longevity of the entire structure.
- 4-layer paint coating – effectively protects against moisture, UV rays, and mechanical damage.
- Universal 24 mm glazing unit, Ug = 1.1 W/m²K – optimal thermal and acoustic insulation.
- CHROMATEC warm edge spacer – increases thermal insulation and eliminates the risk of water vapor condensation.
- SCHLEGEL seal system – ensures a high level of tightness, resistance to weather conditions, and comfort of use.
- External horns – protect structural elements and emphasize the aesthetics of the finish.
- 52 mm wooden sill – durable and load-resistant, providing excellent sealing and a natural look.
Opening types of sash windows
Up-and-down sliding windows are available in several sash configuration variants:
- both sashes sliding,
- one sliding sash, the other fixed,
- both sashes fixed.
Thanks to this, the construction can be adapted to the needs of the building and functional requirements.
Sash window construction
We offer two main construction systems:
SASH 170 – weights version
- frame: 170 mm,
- sash: 57 mm,
- sill: 52 mm,
- made of hardwood.
SASH 146 – weights version
- frame: 146 mm,
- sash: 57 mm,
- sill: 52 mm,
- made of hardwood.
Each of the structures retains the classic character of sash windows while ensuring high durability of the materials.
